With the development of the medical image equipment, it becomes the trend that two-dimension image is reconstructed to the 3D image. The reconstruction of the 3d image and visualization technic is useful for the orientation of tumor, cancer diagnosis. The summary of this paper is about the 3D image reconstruction and visualization technic in PACS. Though the combination of reconstruction and visualization, it realizes the visualization for the 3D medical image.The article first introduces the medical image technic,PACS,VTK and some content of the visualization, including the characteristics of VTK, programming, framework, the concept of surface rendering and volume rendering and typical algorithm. It focuses on surface rendering though the mobile cube and volume rendering though the ray-casting tracing technic. The article analyses the typical algorithms of volume rendering in the 3D image reconstruction process. It draws a conclusion that reducing the resample computation is the effective method for improving the volume rendering efficient. And it also illustrates the application of visualization technic in VE.
