With the development of communication technology, the construction of PON (Passive Optical Network) become the primary way to transform the access netwok and speed up the pace of light for copper,for the telecom operators.It can solve the bandwidth bottleneck problem of the network and promote the broadband of network capacity. So, it is necessary to build a set of information system for maintaining and managementing the x-PON network resources.In this paper, firstly, we analyze the necessity and importance of x-PON resources management system for supporting the operations management, market management and the service of maintenance. Through the in-depth studing of the networking and technical characteristics of PON technology, we design the hardware platform and software architecture of x-PON resource management system, elaborate the thoughts of the system construction in coding for the netwok resources, datating modeling and function realization. Secondly, we study and design a distributed system which is base on J2EE technique and workflow technique, using relational database, detailedly describing the functional and technical implementation of the system resources management modules, application modules and system interface module. At last, combining with practical application of the system after running situation, we analyze the on-line test results of resource management system.we can see the resource management system can improve the work efficiency, standardize the resource management. We aslo analyze the problems existing in the present system using and propose solutions in the future.The x-PON resource management system can not only provide effective management of PON resources, ODN resources, etc., but also ensure the managers and maintenance crews can control better the dynamic situation of various resources’ real-time state. It improves the work efficiency and promotes the business development. At sametime, the thought of user-oriented design is the first time to open the supporting platform of telecom operators directly for the user services which is implemented interactive, visual communication with the user.
