Semi-physical simulation is an important way to improve the performance of laser-guided weapons and an essential process when developing the laser-guided weapons. Aiming at the double requirements of the real-time and generality of the semi-physical simulation, the RTX, the real-time extension of the Windows, is selected among many embedded operating systems. Semi-physical simulation of laser-guided weapons systems is introduced in this dissertation. Industrial control computer and Windows XP+RTX have considered as its hardware platform and software platform, respectively.First, the functionality of each subsystem and the real-time requirements of the various sub-systems are analyzed in the semi-physical simulation test system for laser-guided weapons. And then, the RTI simulation control network, real-time reflective memory network and high-speed serial structures are applied to construct a real-time communication platform in the simulation system.Second, the limitations of the Windows operating system in the real-time aspect are analyzed. Due to the weak real-time performance of the Windows, a real-time extension software RTX is introduced and it has also been further studied in depth. Furthermore, VMIC reflective memory network and RTI simulation control network are investigated in detail.Third, program design methods under RTX for semi-physical simulation system are developed. Simulation system software involves two components:RTSS real-time process and non-real-time process under Win32.Different processes exchange data through shared memory. Based on the study of data interaction techniques though the IPC shared memory, shared memory in the form of ring and shared memory block algorithms are studied, and a development method of real-time equipment driver program under RTX is proposed. Finally, the real-time performance of the simulation system is tested so as to verify the feasibility of the communication scheme. The testing covers the RTX real-time performance testing, the reflective memory network communication testing as well as serial communication testing. The results of these tests have been demonstrated that, the proposed simulation system satisfies the requirements of real-time and stability, and the proposed scheme is feasible, too.
