"Prime Tortoise of the Record Bureau" is one of the top four books of the Song Dynasty, Jing two years, Song Zhenzong Zhao Heng commanded eighteen people including Wang Qinruo, Yang Yi, Sun Shi to compile the deeds of liege in all ages, the compilation content includes all the seventeen histories which are compiled and classified by combining the annalistic style and biographies style. The book is divided into thirty-one parts, more than one thousand and one hundred species. Thus, each part has the total catalogue, and each species has small leixu. The content of "Prime Tortoise of the Record is usual, so the scholars do not think much of it, and no one shows interest on the more than one thousand kinds of leixu.The first chapter briefly introduces the basic content, creation background and compiling intention; the achievements of previous research of the leixu; the main methods and thread of "Prime Tortoise of the Record Bureau".The second chapter, according to the differences of the category identity, we divide the thirty-one parts of "Prime Tortoise of the Record Bureau" into eight sections:total leixu of each part; emperor、Unorthodox throne、 fake government) and monarch department of various nations;Crown prince、 Imperial clan and relatives of a king or an emperor on the side of his mother or wife; Prime minister and Generals department,and so on. We compare the similar proportions of each part; unearth the ideological trend of Prime Tortoise of the Record Bureau’s compilers and the main idea of the ruling class to further explain the commandment of the leixu.The third chapter selects some leixu of "Prime Tortoise of the Record Bureau" as a case study.For example, National central institutions、 National plans、 Gazetted officer、 literary attendants、 historiography, schools, sanitation, and Shogun;The fourth chapter overall grip the function of the leixu of "Prime Tortoise of the Record Bureau", finding out the practical significance of the method:first, it begins with the compilers, analyses the ideological trend of Wang Qinruo and other famous scholar, that is to promote orthodoxy; second, it analyses the guiding ideology of Song Zhenzong Zhao Heng when compiling the book,that is to admonish and warn the futurity; third, we explain that how the catalogues introduce the origin of things and define the range of categories by analyzing the particular catalogues.In the fifth chapter,"Sui Shu Jing Ji Zhi", the Representatives of bibliographic order, is compared with the leixu of "Prime Tortoise of the Record Bureau" from two aspects: firstly the stresses are different when narrating the origin:the depiction of bibliographic order referring to the academic origin of discipline or ancient code, while the leixu focusing on the origin of things; secondly, in order to make a comparative study,we select similar leixu such as the small leixu of geography and Yizhu,and analyze the similarities and differences of the content and function of the leixu.Finally, the sixth chapter of the article focus on the future development of the leixu method, we hope that the leixu method of classical bibliography could get a tiny space under the trend of digitalization.
