Because of the popularity of Windows system, the directshow technology is highly in favor of computer developersThis is a paper about network monitoring alarm system which is based on Directshow technical. The network monitoring alarm system, which is aimed at family and small business clients, is applied in indoor monitoring environment. To achieve the maximal compatibility and the maximum price ratio, low cost of hardware and software are in full use. The system in this paper first graps the images of monitoring locations through the camera and it begins to monitor the motion detection. When the system discovers the motion detection, to attain an affect of notice, it will raise the alarm and sent message through the mail. In the daily monitoring process, technicians can also watch the video information through the network in real time. Based on the advantages of Directshow in video grabbing and compression, a complete video surveillance and control system and intruder alarm system is conveyed over the network by acquiring the surveillance video, detecting changes and packing record images. In this paper, the author puts forward his deep research content on motion detection by using directshow. Based on tested, monitoring system both meets requirments in practicability and robustness. It is not only in accordance with the design purpose but also reaches the indoor monitoring demand.
