Design And Implementation Of Cloud Storage Based On Virturl Disk And Online Storage Interface

Cloud Computing have being a very hot topci since2008. As the same time another concept, Cloud Storage also has appeared in our lives. As the concept of cloud storage appeared, it abstracted the attention of both the industry and academia. However, what is "Cloud Storage?" It is hard to give an authoritative definition. We prefer that Cloud Storage is a service(Data storage as a Service),which can not only work for the Cloud Computing, but also for the public customers.In this thesis, we fist survey some classical and recent works which are about Cloud Storage. Based on the storage method and storage component, we divide the Cloud Storage into5categories:database storage, file and object storage, virtual image storage, virtual disk storage and virtual instance storage, and for each category we will discuss some hot topics. Then we design and implementation a Cloud Storage System based on IaaS Cloud. It constains two storage model:the first one is Virture Disk storage system, by using the network storage protocol(ISCSI) and virtualized techinicals, a remote storage node can provide virtual disk to a virtual mechine running on a computing node.This method can provide high scalability storage. The second one is On-line Storage system, which based on the storage interface of S3, by using HTTP protocol, it can provide online storage for user’s bucket and object.At last,we test the function and the performance of the system, we provide security, elastic and high scalability storage service, and our performance is good as well.
