With the development of information technology in recent years, big data has beenintegrated into our lives. Enterprises are facing with lot of difficulties such as lack of datastorage hardware facilities and high maintenance costs, and all of these make the cloudstorage market bigger and bigger. Every telecom operator wants to seize this opportunity totransfer the cloud storage services into new business growth point, but the key point is thatbuild a flexible expansion and flexible management open cloud storage service platformbased on their advantages in resources.By analyzing and comparing several mainstream open source cloud computing platformsin multiple dimensions of business and technology, this paper decided to choose OpenStack asthe basic platform for this research. Swift is the core storage component of OpenStack. Afterresearching the characteristics, architecture, key storage technologies, installation/deploymentand access interface of Swift, a solution based on Swift is proposed.As the platform designing, this paper divide the platform into four layers: The resourcelayer is the resource pool of cloud storage; The basis management layer consist of applicationmanagement, resource management, storage strategies and statistical analysis; The applicationaccess layer comprises the application software, Web Services and public access APIs; Andthe access layer is the service of businesses and individuals or third-party applications access.For the concrete realization of the platform, this paper choose Swift as the basicframework and develop the support services of operating records and billing operations in thebasis management layer. Then this paper build a business management portal and aself-service portal based on Python+Django framework, and open the platform authenticationand storage interface by the way of ReST-ful in the application access layer. At last, this paperdeveloped a third-party application named mobile cloud disk based on open APIs on theAndroid in the access layer.The test of open cloud storage service platform designed in this paper shows that it hascharacteristics of flexible expansion, data security, flexible management, good userexperience and open storage ability. It is a good prototype reference for telecom operators todevelop and operate the open cloud storage service.
