With the rapid development of network technology, there has been increasing numberof netizen, the problems brought by which are now looming up on the government agenda.Over the past decade, especially in recent years, governments at all levels have beenmaking every effort to promote real-name registration in cyber-world. Yet it never goessmoothly due to involved interests of netizen and network companies. Through analyzingreal-name registration system in other countries, this study aims to find a new way out forour own country.By studying the status quo and reviewing the development process of currentreal-name system in our country, distributing and collecting questionnaires through internet,we now have known the general opinion of netizen over the system. Additionally, via theresearch on other countries’ real-name system and comparing the different ways betweenthe doer countries and non-doer countries, taking the vicissitude of South Korea’sreal-name system as a particular example, we have known the backgrounds, ways ofconducts and causes of failure of the system, and summarized what we have learnt. We believe that during the promotion of real-name system in our country we have topay more attention on the microblog, mobilephone media’s influences on netizen’s way ofthinking and network’s way of information spreading, so we need to continuously perfectrelevant laws and policies, promote network education to increase awareness ofself-discipline among netizen and business entities. On the other hand, more work needs tobe done on real-name system technology to ensure their freedom of speaking and privacy.
