As the successive innovation and development of multimedia tochnology, embedded technology and3G mobile communication netwoks, video monitoring system develops toward intellegence and wireless network. CDMA2000, one of the three mainstream3G standards, develops rapidly in China. The transmit rate of CDMA2000service of China Telecom reaches3.1Mbps in a wireless channel, which satisfies the requitments of normal video, even high quality video transmission. Meanwhile, the development of embedded technology and performance improvement of embedded multimedia processors make the application of CDMA2000in embedded video monitoring system possible. Compared with normal video monitoring system, systems based on CDMA2000have three evident merits. Firstly, users can access the system anytime, anywhere to check the video situation, which implments mobile real-time monitoring; Secondly, systems based on CDMA2000avoid the monitoring center as in normal systems, which can protect the privacies of users; Thirdly, systems based on CDMA2000have the characters of fluency and high reliability in terms of video transmission.Based on actual project, the main contents and tasks of this paper are as follows:In the first place, various solutions of diferent video monitoring system provided by HISILICON,TI.etc, are compared; The final chioce is to use TI’s TMS320DM365as the core processor, embedded Linux as the system software platform. Overall architecture and main parameters of a CDMA2000Virtual Private Dial-Network(VPDN) based video monitoring system are provieded, the whole design of hardware modules is completed at the same time.In the second place, chip data sheet of DM365is read and deeply analyzed, architecture of the selected chip is understood. According to the requirements of system function, peripheral circuits of the chip are designed, hardware interface circuits and PCB design are completed as well, using the method of modular design.In the next place, in-depth study of Software Development Kit of TI is performed to build the overall software development and debug environment. Emphatically analyzed the UBL, UBoot transplant of DM365,This paper further studies the driver design method of embedded Linux and take the development of infrared driven modules as a detailed description of driver development process.Finally,debugging shows that the content of the design and development meet the system requirements.
