With t he de velopment of t he Internet a nd t he pr ogress of video e ncodingtechnology, watch TV and movies via the Internet has already become an importantpart of t he pe ople’s l ife. G enerally, t he a ccess m ethods of our c ountry’s cam pusnetwork is cernet-based, supplemented by other carriers’ networks, it c an’t meet theneeds of us ers in ma ny w ays, ju st lik e th e mode of ope ration a nd the n etworkbandwidth. This project is an IPTV system based on the campus network environment,can solve the problem good.This project’s architecture model is mainly involved in the video streaming’sprocess, transcoding, forwarding server and Web server structures, combined with thebasic operation of the IPTV system to achieve a campus network environment’s IPTVoperating platform.Without the aid of other manufacturers, the system design and realization thewhole process include relying on the existing network platform architecture, convertthe analog video signal from the satellite into a digital signal via satellite receivermodule, then send the digital signal to the transcoding server by multicast. Finallypush the video stream to the campus network’s users through the streaming mediaserver and the web server.The system in this paper has already run in true campus network environment.From the current actual operating condition, the system can meet the needs of users,ease t he c ampus n etwork’s b andwidth, r each t he de sign t arget, and l ay a s olidfoundation for the future to improve and expand the campus network video service.
