Networked camera is a combination of traditional cameras with a variety ofadvanced technology. As the new generation of cameras, it is becoming more andmore popular in the field of video surveillance with advantages in networkadaptability, it is also easy to operate and expand.In the technology of video network transmission, the large amount of data andvariant network environment are need to be solved. In order to solve these problems,this thesis proposes the design of IP camera based on Davinci processorTMS320DM365with higher performance. Through the research of the hardwarearchitecture of DM365, the embedded Linux operating system and the real timestreaming media protocol RTP/RTCP/RTSP, the multithreaded applications corecode of video capture, video encode processing, network real-time transmission andremote process control are realized with the origins of the media library Live555forthe development of prototype. According to NS-2, this thesis studies the main factorsof real time video transmission in wireless channels and proposes the adaptive coderate control algorithm based on the RTCP protocol. The algorithm employs the coderate control mode of variable coefficient and better adapted to the changing networkenvironment compared with the AIMD code rate control algorithm.The system can adjust the coding parameters such as the frame rate and theresolution ratio (CIF, D1,720P). The encoded video data can realize networktransmission and local store. Experiment results show that the delay time of networktransfer can meet the requirement of actual system. In addition, this thesis discussesthe adaptive code rate control algorithm. Experimental results show that thisalgorithm can restrain the jitter of the encoder s output code rate, improve thebandwidth utilization and reduce the loss rate of the network packet.
