The computer composition principle is the backbone of the computer professionalundergraduate teaching course, and is the Graduate Record Examination compulsory subjecteither. The course involves multidisciplinary knowledge such as computer hardware, software,digital logic circuit, assembly language program design etc. with the characteristic of Strongtheoretical. Besides, it is also a practical subject, helping students to understand the theory ofknowledge well and master the working principle of the various functional modules of thecomputer system through a lot of experiments.In order to improve the teaching quality and enhance the power and flexibility of theexperimental system,we adopt EDA technology to update existing experimental platform,anddesigned a set of computer principle experiment platform based on FPGA. By the way, hardwareexperiment platform is mainly used for downloading and hardware simulation and softwareexperiment platform is mainly completes the computer system design by the8-bit data pathwidth.The paper analyzes the hardware environment of teaching experiment platform first. Theplatform consists of cyclone II FPGA chip supported by Altera Corporation and peripheralcircuits. Experiment control logic is designed according to the specific requirements of eachexperiment. Users can download the program to the experimental platform required by thehardware experimental platform constituting through the required experimental logic. After thecompletion of the design of the hardware platform, the modular design of the computer systemcan be worked to design operator modules, memory modules, combinational logic controllermodule. Through the modular design, students can master the computer system workingprinciple, especially the design ideas of combinational logic controller in the current large-scalecomputer system.In the paper, a set of teaching experiment platform based on FPGA is designed under theenvironment of undergraduate teaching practice curriculum design based. It meet the requirements of students from beginners to depth understanding of computer works. At the sametime, this thesis has important theoretical significance and practical significance for independentexperimental designing based on FPGA experimental platform.
