In recent years, the business of radio and television operators are rapid developed,and various systems have accumulated a large amount of business data, especiallywhen many provinces and cities are carrying out or have completed the provincialoperational integration, integration through the establishment of a provincial companyto city resources, the data of provincial business systems is growing rapidly. However,these systems are relatively independent, these data resources are not put to good use,and fail to reflect the proper value. The business intelligence system that based ondata warehouse and data mining technology, provides an effective way to solve thisproblem. In this paper, base on the background of building Business Intelligencesystem on a local city, the audience ratings data are researched by using datawarehouse and online analytical processing technology.Firstly, we study the methods on collecting ratings data in the digital TV, throughcomparative analysis, and combined with the actual situation of the operators, weachieve the goal of data collecting and pre-processing. Secondly, we introduced thedata warehouse cube and online analytical processing technology. After that, weanalyze the business data and ratings data, then design the data cube model based onthe requirement. And, we extract, transform and load data into the designed fact anddimension tables. Finally, we build the data cube, and OLAP on it by using a varietyof charts. The analyze results would help the decision makers to make the decisions.
