With the development of communications technology and the improvement ofpeople’s living standards, security monitoring system is gradually known by us and hasbecome a hot research topic. As a subsystem of the security monitoring system, homefire monitoring system plays an important role in reducing family disasters, improvingthe quality of people’s lives.Traditional home fire monitoring system has many defects, such as inconvenientwiring, low monitoring accuracy of single-sensor and poor remote monitoring capacity.Networked fire monitoring system is expensive,the objective of this paper is to reducecost and power consumption of the monitoring system and improve system integrationand accuracy. In this respect, this paper presents an embedded home fire monitoringsystem based on Internet of things. Home monitoring network is built by ZigBee,remote home fire monitoring is realized by making use of Internet. The design ofmulti-sensor to monitor the state of the environment and monitoring data is processed inthe intelligent gateway so as to improve monitoring accuracy. A router chip RT3052isused to develop the intelligent gateway, for reducing system cost and powerconsumption.In order to implement the system,The detailed hardware and software designincluding wireless sensor network and intelligent gateway are presented. For firedetection, smoke, gas, flame and temperature sensor are used. For intrusion detection,pyroelectric infrared sensor is used. The single ZigBee chip CC2430is used to build thehome communications platform,wireless network data communication is achievedthrough ZigBee2006Stack. The intelligent gateway utilizes RT3052as the core chip,the basic function is to achieve wireless router,facilitating home facility access to theInternet and network resources, on the other hand, it receives ZigBee sensor monitoringdata, responds to the remote access request and returns processing result. EmbeddedWeb server is transplanted on the gateway,users can access the server by means of IPaddress, the gateway can respond in real time to remote requests,and fusion resultscan return to user through the form of webpage. In order to add the alarm function andreduce system development costs,fetion module is also transplanted,so as to achieveSMS alarm. Remote video surveillance is realized by using the WIFI camera module.Under testing, the ZigBee wireless network can communicate properly,intelligent gateway can accomplish the data forwarding between ZigBee and the Internet. Besides,it can properly collect the multi-sensor data, monitor the fire and detect home fire in ahigh probability. In a word, the home security monitoring system achieves the desiredobjective.
