Literature Study To Gu Tinglong’s Achievement

Gu Tinglong, who is famous in our country’s library cause, version bibliography, stonehouse of philology and calligrapher, has made a great contribution in the development ofclassical text of our country. He summarized his life work in three words: collect, edit andprint books. This article means to study of Gu Tinglong’s achievements in the field of studyfrom the above three aspects.The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part introduces Gu Tinglong’s familybackground and lifetime. With the current research results as the breakthrough point, theauthor elaborates on the significance of this research. The second part discusses GuTinglong’s concept of ‘slice speech made all the historical data of literature search’.Furthermore, the author pointes out the his devotion to our country’s collecting work from hisattention to draft codex, revolution literature, family tree and personnel achievementscollection and so on. The third part discusses Gu Tinglong’s achievements in compilingliterature. Since he compiled so much books, the author just chooses a little part of the study,such as ‘Mr. Wu Kezhai Chronicle’,‘Finally Four Hidden Douangchay Bibliography’,‘Atthe Beginning of Ming Dynasty Versions Focus’ and etc., and two great books with him aschief editor:‘A comprehensive collection of books in china’ and ‘Catalogue of ChineseAncient Rare Books’. He has made great contribution to the version of the bibliography inChina, The fourth part studies his achievements in the field of ancient books photocopy anddiscusses his concept of publishing ancient books and his practical work. The final partsummarizes Gu Tinglong’s theory in collection of ancient books, which still has importantreference value to our work right now.Throughout the full text, the author systematically summarizes the theories andachievements of Gu Tinglong mainly from his contribution on research of philology field.
