Being a new teacher is an inevitable and crucial stage in a teacher’s career development. In the existing studies and researches on teachers’ position adaptation, primary school and middle school teachers have been the main research groups by now. Nevertheless, the nursery school teachers are rarely talked about in those academic publications. Thus the thesis aims to have a better understanding of those problems on position adaptation happened to the beginning teachers in nursery schools and explore deeply into the factors causing influence to the vocational adjustment made by those beginning teachers, for the further purpose of helping the nursery school governors work out the effective plans and strategies to speed up those teachers’ position adaptation progress.Based on the existing researches and expert guidance, a Questionnaire on Vocational Adaptation Characteristics of Beginning Teachers in Nursery Schools is specially designed for the research. The questionnaires are filled out by taking random samples which are265beginning teachers coming from Heping District, Hebei District, Hexi District, Nankai District, Hedong District, Jinnan District, Dagang District, Xiqing District in Tianjin. The research findings are as follows:1. The vocational adaptation of beginning teachers is on an average level, which is reflected on the highest grade in mental vocational adaptation and the lowest grade in ability to deal with vocational relationship.2. On account of the level of environmental vocational adaptation, most of beginning teachers working in demonstration schools and grade-one schools are content with the hardware environment and humanistic atmosphere, which can not offer a sense of satisfaction to those beginning teachers working in grade-two and ungraded schools.3. From perspective of vocational ability adaptation, beginning teachers usually have a good adjustment ability to engage in daily educational affairs, but are poor in academic and scientific researches.4. According to the condition of vocational relationship adaptation, quite some beginning teachers are not consistent with the school master on some administrative methods, while some others can not effectively cope with the relationship with their coworkers and students’parents.The thesis also adopts interviews based on the analytical results of the questionnaires, which expects to disclose some other factors influencing the vocational adaptation of beginning teachers. Meanwhile, the thesis is intended to accelerate the new teachers’ position adaptation progress and put forward the following suggestions:First, on the government’s part, more preschool educational funds should be injected into the system, and at the same time, the orientation support mechanism should be effectively established. Second, on the nursery school’s part, a harmonious working environment and elegant school cultures should be ensured, and the school administrators should also attempt to better teacher evaluation and promotion mechanism timely. It is also important that the intensity and difficulty of work for a beginning teacher be reasonably lowered. Third, on a new teacher’s part, it is essential for them to adjust to the working environment and build up an active and optimistic attitude toward the preschool educational work.
