With the deepening of reduce the burden of learning in Tianjin, the high school teachers need to in-depth study and implementation of new teaching methods.<High school language curriculum standards> stressed that students are the masters of language learning, teachers are learning activities organizer and guider, and actively promoted autonomy, cooperation, and exploring ways of learning. Adapt to today’s social development is impotent to training the students self-learning ability. In particular, the high school teacher teaches the modern article is more difficult than before. Because, the teachers and the students are ignore to learning the modern article and for some reasons lead to low efficiency of teaching for the modern articles. This paper wrote on the basis of in theory and practice of self-study at home and abroad, discovering the teachers how to guide the students learn the modern articles more effectively and improve the students learning ability.
