At present, China is learning and recreating foreign advanced instructional design theories to localize them. In this transitional phase, the separation of instructional design and teaching practice appears. At the same time, senior high school students lack interest and initiative in the process of learning mathematics. Therefore, it’s important to absorb the essence of foreign theory that fits Chinese characteristics and create our own instructional design theories. It is the primary problem to put the theory with Chinese characteristics into instructional design for the combination of teaching design and teaching practice. Trying teaching theory is the theory with Chinese characteristics. It concentrates the teaching ideas at all times and in all countries to build its theoretical basis. It summarizes years of teaching experience, experiencing four periods:seeding period, development period, and formation period and deepen period. It also explores a series of effective teaching principles and mode of operation, effecting teaching a lot.This paper talked about teaching design in senior high school mathematics under the guidance of trying teaching theory. First this paper generalized trying the theory and wrote a literature review. Second it researched the feasibility of teaching. Then it discussed how to carry out high school mathematics instructional design under the guidance of the theory on the level of operation, that is, the teaching goal and the teaching process. It showed the characteristics of the theory. In the end, it gave two cases that demonstrate how to put trying teaching theory into the high school mathematics teaching design to enhance the effectiveness of applying theory to practice.As for some viewpoints presented in this paper about the high school mathematics teaching design based on the theory, further improvement and development are also awaited in teaching practice. The next step of the research can be the study on the practical effect of the theory used in the high school. Moreover, preparation of problems is the key of instructional design based on trying teaching theory. Hence, in order to ensure the application of the theory in high school mathematics teaching, making trying problems handbook can also be used as the next working direction.
