The target of social work is helping others and self-help, along with the changes of the times, services and coverage expand. Social workers become the substantial providers of social services; however, their development and even survival run into trouble. Among them, the social work for the disabled, because of the disabled people’s painful movements, disability of living independence, low degree of socialization, the requirement of social workers for the disabled is also higher. Facing the strict professional requirements and great physical and mental pressure, in order to do this work, social workers for the disabled need empowerment.Hereby, social workers with disabled people face the problem of both problems faced by social workers as a whole and unique the plight of the disabled social workers. This paper attempts to use the empowerment theory, and literature research method, participant observation, and in-depth interviews are the main approaches in this research. On the ground of sorting out the data and rigorous analysis, I will take six social workers with disabled people in Beijing city of Chao yang District YYC and LDL social work office for example, combine the theory and cases of social workers, find out difficulties in practice and reasons of the formation of the dilemma, and then explore how to empower the social workers through external and inner ways, so that they can maintain psychological well-being and be full of vigour Through the analysis of the predicament of social workers with disabled people and empowerment theory, more attention can be focused on promoting the development of social work. We expect to provide some inspiration and references for the future research on empowerment of social workers.
