College Students’ Media Literacy Education Research Under The New Media Era

Contemporary society has entered the era of new media. New media because ofits immediacy, interactivity, personalization, etc, makes Media Literacy Educationmore times. Under the new media environment, Media Literacy Education bothmeans public ability about awareness of media information, evaluation, reasoning,creativity and the ability of use media information to achieve self-worth and servesociety. College students are in the ideas and values being formed period, they areeasy impacted by media. From the situation of college students’media cognition,media judgment, media creativity, media use, Chinese college students in general areable to adapt to the new media environment. But in terms of the specific mediabehavior, college students are also faced with some problems, for example, mediaawareness is not enough, media judgment is weak, the awareness of media moral andlaw is weak. The reason of college students’ media literacy missing, is bothstudents’ subjective reasons and the objective reasons of the government, the mediaand universities.
