Patriotism is not only one of the finest traditions of the Chinese nation, but also abanner which mobilize and inspire the national people’s unity struggle. In order tocultivate students’ patriotic spirit, you must undertake patriotism education. At present,because the unbalanced development of education and the ignorance of all levels ofdepartments and schools, there are many problems in the special field of rural primaryand secondary schools and special education object. These problems restrict thedevelopment of patriotism education seriously and make the school patriotismeducation have little effect. So it’s an important and strategic topic, which improve theeffect of patriotism education of rural primary and secondary schools with study it.This paper is combining theoretical analysis and empirical research method, usesself-made questionnaire investigation, and uses archival research method, theinterview method, and questionnaire survey method to research.In the first part, we defined the concept of patriotism, patriotism education andpatriotism education of rural primary and secondary schools. Then we discussedcharacteristics and contents of rural primary and secondary schools patriotismeducation, and put forward the significance of patriotism education research for ruralprimary and secondary schools.In the second part, we researched six representative rural primary and secondaryschools in Gaoan city Jiangxi province. The investigation includes organization,environment atmosphere, classroom teaching, cognitive degree and patriotic faith fivekind of a total of20indexes about patriotism education of rural primary andsecondary schools. Conclude the state of patriotism education of rural primary andsecondary schools from the aspects of education system, teachers’ team environmentand classroom teaching, which are the main factors that form the state of it.In the third part, in view of the current problems exist in the patriotism educationof rural primary and secondary schools, we proposed some improvement measuresabout it, according to the fact of rural schools. The first is using the class teaching toinfuse patriotic theory, to solidify the patriotism education foundation; The second isusing the campus cultural heritage patriotic emotion to build patriotism education atmosphere; The third is using the practice sublimation patriotic spirit to consolidatepatriotic education achievement; The last is to establish and perfect the securitysystem and patriotism education mechanism of it.
