With the development of society and the changing times, quality-oriented educationhas become the focus of the university education. In the education process,quality-oriented education requires all colleges and universities should not only focus ontraining the development of students’ intellectual factors, such as intellectual, mental,physical, but also focus on training the development of students’ non-intellectual factors,such as personality, emotions, interests, will and attention.In our country, however, it is influenced by examination-oriented education, of whichthe impact is rooted. During the process of ideological and political education all collegesand universities tend to attach importance to students’ intellectual, mental and otherintellectual factors, but neglect the training of students’ personality, emotions, interests,will, attention and other non-intellectual factors. This tends to lead to two results. Firstly,educators often emphasis too much on the social value and functions of ideological andpolitical education. However, they ignore the training of students’ non-intellectual factors,such as personality, emotions and so on. Secondly, educators have taken the blindly outerinstilling way in the process of education, so that they could not cause the students’ innerresonance. It is also one of the reasons that the ideological and political education effect isnot ideal for a long time in university.Quality-oriented education demands universities to reform the traditional educationmethods and education contents. In view of this, the first part introduced the researchpurposes, significance, contents and methods of the thesis, analysed the research situationand research results about the non-intellectual factors at home and abroad. The second partsimply summarized the meaning of non-intelligence factors, the relation and distinctionbetween non-intellectual factors and intellectual factors. The third part elaborated thesignificance of cultivating students’ non-intellectual factors on ideological and politicaleducation work. It includes the significance on the educators, the educated and theeducational process. The forth part put forward the current situation of college students’non-intelligence factors and existing problems by analyzing the questionnaire data and content. Further, the reasons of the problems are also found out. The fifth part creativelyput forward the feasible approaches to develop college students’ non-intelligence factors inthe process of ideological and political education.
