English reading skill is one of the most important language skills in English learning. In recent years, context-based English teaching has proved to be the most effective way to improve students’comprehensive language competence. However, few studies on context-based teaching in English reading in higher grades of primary schools have been conducted.Since there is no fixed pattern for English teachers to follow, it is considered as the difficult point to teach English reading. Based on the current situation, the study aims to investigate whether PWP reading context-based English teaching model is suitable for students in higher grades of primary schools through taking four primary schools in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region for example.This thesis consists of five parts:The first part is a general introduction to the existed problems and significance of the study, literature review, relevant definitions as well as purposes and procedures of the study.The second part describes the basic theories of PWP reading context-based teaching model, procedures and principles.The third part analyzes the current situation of context-based English teaching model in high-grades of primary schools, the existed problems and solutions.The fourth part discusses the effects of context-based English teaching model in high-grades of primary schools.The last part offers the conclusion of the study and implications and suggestions for future research. |
