| Matrix is one of the most important research objects in algebra, and also animportant tool of research and application in mathematics and other fields. In newcurriculum standards for senior high school, the matrix and transform have been takenas an elective course. There have been many teaching researches about matrix. In thispaper, starting from the two aspects of students and teachers, we mainly study thefeasibility of the subject in the current situation based on the existed researches.In this paper, we firstly review the emergence and development of matrix andtransform, the curriculum situation at home and abroad, and how to apply theknowledge of matrix to solve the common problems. According to the actual situationof the students, we give some teaching cases on the matrix and transform, and preparethe test papers and the outline of interview. The author personally taught the studentsaccording to the curriculum plan. Through the test investigation students, we foundthat most teachers and students all think the concept of matrix, multiplication ofsecond order matrix and inverse matrix are relatively easy to understand, but theeigenvectors and eigenvalues of second order matrix are hard to understand. For thestudents’ understanding of the matrix and transform, the survey found that moststudents can master the telescopic, reflection, rotation transforms, but failed inunderstanding the other form of the linear transform. Through the test analysis to thestudents, from the perspective of the acceptance and learning interest of students,teaching skills and strategies of the teachers, and the application of matrix, weconclude that open the "matrix and transform" elective courses in senior high schoolis feasible, and the students have the ability for understanding higher order matrix.Finally, we give some suggestions on the aspects of teaching, teaching materials andteacher training through reflecting and integrating the research results. |
