Action Strengths Perspective Marriage Problems Involved In The Study Of Foreign Workers

This article is an strengths perspective intervene in action research of marriage problems of female migrant workers. The female migrant workers of factory A in the HS town are the main object of study. I live with them to go into their world and get to know their stories. On this basis, I carry out social work intervention based on the strengths perspective. The strengths perspective stresses to see the client’s strengths and resources. This is very important to these female migrant workers. They are in the weak position in social groups because of unequal traditional gender culture, behindhand economic conditions, scarce cultural level and so on.Most of these female migrant workers who are known by me are belong to the object of early marriage and motherhood. Their general educational level is not high. In addition to premature to assume the burden of the life in marriage and family, they also face a lot of problems on the marriage. They may face these problems of marriage such as domestic violence, extramarital affairs, divorce, pressure of procreation fertility, her husband’s lazy and so on. The dual role of migrant workers and women make their facing marriage problems more complex.I launched a professional intervention to these female migrant workers in A factory based on the theroy of strengths perspective. In the first, I did the casework of female migrant worker Xiaoguang. She faced many probblems, such as her husband brought another woman away from home, families into financial crisis, the eldest son became silence of few words, the younger son back to his home by her mother-in-law and so on. In the professional intervention, we work together to solve these problems and occur the change.we hope Xiaoguang will have a good life. In addition, I want to link these female migrant workers in A factory through some actions. Some of them have similar experiences and feeling. I try to steer them to the formation of spontaneous social support network. They can share and help with each other. In the end of this article, I discussed the issue what female migrant workers may encounter in marriage.
