The children of migrant workers refer to the adolescents and children of school age who follow the parents or guardians of migrant workers to work in cities and live legally,which is the product of the rapid economic and social development of our country.At the same time,the stage of education is also a crucial period of life development.It is necessary to well adapt to local education to lay a foundation for future development.The large influx of migrant population has injected vitality into the development of the city,but at the same time,it also makes the original resources of the city appear to be stretched,especially the educational resources.Therefore,the education of migrant workers’ children is difficult to be fully guaranteed.This paper expounds the situation of the children of migrant workers,analyses the causes of their educational adaptation problems,introduces the concept and definition of the strengths perspective,and evaluates the significant advantages of the strengths perspective applied to the children of migrant workers’ educational adaptation problems.In the current research situation,the application of strengths perspective in the field of social work is elaborated,and the research on social work intervention in the education of migrant workers’ children is summarized and discussed.Based on Guangzhou,where the number of migrant workers is tremendous,this paper analyses the factors that restrict the education of migrant workers’ children,and uses the methods of literature research,participatory observation,and interview to analyze the risk factors and protective factors of the education adaptation of migrant workers’ children.It is found that the risk factors for the educational adaptation of migrant workers’ children are poor individual adaptability,lack of family education and policy constraints,and protective factors are divided into internal and external factors.Through case introduction and interviews with service objects,it is found that the current situation of the educational adaptation of migrant workers’ children in the Y Street,and its own and objective advantages are analyzed from the perspective of advantages.The analysis also finds that there are different degrees of vacancies in the educational adaptation of children of migrant workers in families,schools and society,which is undoubtedly the root cause of this problem.
