The Development Of Island And The Change Of Fishing Village

Although the Qiwang island is cut off from the land,with the development andconstruction of the island,the island has changed a lot in all aspects,changing not onlytakes advantages of the society out of the island,but also highlights some of its owncharacteristics creatively.Especially since the S Group started to invest in thedevelopment in1992, the houses of the fishermen have been significantlyimproved,so has the level and quality of life,the structure of production systemshowed a trend of diversification,awareness of rights has been strengthened,culturallife has been greatly changed.But in recent years,for the bankruptcy of the S Group,the island’s economy fell into a trough,the fishermen’s happiness decreasedobviously.So the study of the bumpy development of the economic on the island haspractical significance.Taking the Qiwang Island as research subjects,aims to describethe development and construction of the island in sociological perspective,concerningabout the special group of fishermen,and to explore the future development ideasabout the politics, economic, education, health, social life, folk culture and so on.The study consists of seven parts：The first part is the introduction,including research background, purpose andmeaning, research of domestic and foreign, research methods.And put forward severalkey issues in this study:As long as the change of global climate and the developmentof industrialization,how is the environment of the island?Under the influence of theFisherman’s play, how is the living on the island?Does there exist the “fishing villageelite ", if present, what role does these elites play?The second part is about the surrounding environment of the Qiwang Island anddevelopment conditions.This part starts from the status of China’s coastalenvironmental quality and marine resources,after the introduction of thebackground,using the method of literature method and field observationvisits,describes in detail of the environmental quality and conditions of marineresources of the Qiwang Island,prepare adequately for the following analysis.The third,fouth,fifth sixth part,taking use of the method of interview,listeningstories by the islanders,introduces the deterioration of the surrounding resources andenvironment.With the development of the island, the industrial structure, politics,culture, social undertakings take great changes.Based on the analysis of theseaspects,we found that since the S Group started to invest in the development in1992,the houses of the fishermen have been significantly improved,so has the level andquality of life,the structure of production system showed a trend ofdiversification,awareness of rights has been strengthened,cultural life has been greatlychanged.But in recent years,for the bankruptcy of the S Group, the island’s economy fell into a trough,the fishermen’s happiness decreased obviously.The seventh part is conclusion.According to the field survey on the island of theKing of Qi,by the guidance of the existing theoretical and empirical research on theisland development and change,make descriptive and explanatory analysis of thechanges to the Qiwang Island,and concludes:In the context of the short of marineresources and deteriorating marine environment i,S Group’s investment issuspended,take full use of local residents’ innovation and self-reliance,developendogenous development road,is the key to restore the economy of the island,and putforward the vision and expectations of further study.
