The Sea And The Island:the Space Change Of Han Society In Qi-ao Island

Qi-AO,locating in the Pearl River Delta,Xijiang Estuary,has the function of linking Lintin ocean and the mainland which also shows the historical meanings.With the interaction between history and reality,the development of Qi-Ao Island s space shows different forms.In this process,indulging in the local history study can provide reference resources for the construction of social space that leads to form different societies that preserve the reality of the imprinting,but also reflect the historical memory.At the same time,the space of Island Society is not a static geographical space,but a flowing space filling with social culture.The extension of space is a dynamic process,which includes physical space and spiritual space.It is worthy to note that both the production of space and the construction of society,are based on the materialist historical construction of Marxism,which means that the same area of social development is not a single evolution but a diversity one and the overall trend is forward.In the process of the space production of Qi-AO,it shows the continuous transformation between "center" and "periphery" which also attribute to the external factors such as location of the island and government policy.From the perspective of Qi-AO people,Qi-AO society is moving upward.Through sorting out a series of events in Qi-Ao history,we can probe the relationship between space and society,which is not only a kind of mutual construction,but also a process of mutual production.The mode of production can reflect the relationship between space and society.There is a dominant mode of production in each mode of society basing which we can find out the complex relationship between society and space.Before the era of land expropriation movement,the production mode of Qi-AO is dominated by agriculture,and fishing is the sideline one.After the land acquisition campaign,coupled with the construction of the Qi-AO Bridge,the mode of production of Qi-AO had become service industry.Basing on studying the process of Qi-Ao space production,and from the perspective of "center-periphery",this paper illustrates the development and changings of Island Society which shows a combination between human' s practical activities and material basis.
