In accordance with the theory of Demographic Migration Transition Hypothesis of Mr. Zelinsky, scope and tendency of population migration are changing with the development of industrial structure in the course of development of modern economy. At any of the various stages of Taiwan area, the characteristics of its population migration have been changing continuously. Comparing the economic development of China's mainland and Taiwan area, you can find some similarities between the two ones-----both were developed from agriculture-domination to export processing domination, and then to technology intensive and service industries. Therefore, are there any rules for time series in such a population migration changing? If yes, what're the rules? It's helpful not only for our deep insight into Taiwan but also for research of population migration of China's mainland. This paper is trying to review the fluctuation of population migration of Taiwan area with the time series out of the cross-section static research model. We can draw the following conclusions during the analysis:1. A long descending of sex ratio has led to a sex composition out of balance severely in some areas of Taiwan, which is causing a series of problems in population and society.2. The migration still shows a converge from other areas to the northern areas but the tendency is declining. An adverse current has occurred in some big core cities such as Taipei, Kaohsiung and so on.3. The scope of migration is relative to the gross economy and industry composition in time series.4. The gap of income between cities and towns, and between towns and villages is not the main reason for the migration.5. There is a rule in time series for the population migration of Taiwan area, which is developing in quadratic curve.
