Research-based learning embodies the idea of modern education. It reflects andresponds to the requirement on education of our era. It aims at cultivating studentsinnovative spirit and practical ability, with the characteristics of autonomy, openness,exploration, practice, etc. However, under the traditional teaching conditions, theextensive development of research-based learning is faced with many problems, suchas lack of resources, the limitation of time and space for exploration, etc.In recent years, with the rapid development of the mobile technology and thetechnology of e-study, a new learning pattern comes into being unconsciously. That ismobile learning. It brings learners a brand-new learning experience at all times andplaces. Mobile learning provides a new way of learning to carry out research-basedlearning.Based on the reference of relevant domestic and foreign literature, the thesisanalyzed and summarized the domestic and foreign achievements in this field. Itdiscussed the concepts and characteristics of mobile learning and research-basedlearning. It also goes into the advantages in carrying out research-based learningwith mobile learning. Through the questionnaire survey, we know the currentsituation of carrying out research-based learning with mobile learning amongprimary and middle school students. It turns out that there is a high rate of theownership of mobile learning devices among students, which indicates a goodcondition for students to carry out research-based learning with mobile learning. Asis indicated, most of the students are willing to use mobile learning forresearch-based learning. They understand and are able to use the general function ofmobile learning devices, though the expanded function isn’t explored much by moststudents and the achievements are not effective. That indicates a demand forguidance among students for the process and methods of carrying outresearch-based learning with mobile learning. Through interviews, we get to knowthe teachers’ views and suggestions for students carrying out research-basedlearning with mobile learning. There is also a high degree of approval among teachers for organizing students carry out research-based learning with mobilelearning. Though they affirmed the advantages of research-based learning carried outby mobile learning, but they rarely organize the student to carry out in actualpractice. The thesis points out the shortcomings of research-based learning carriedout by mobile learning and provide suggestions. By organizing the students to carryout the research-based learning with mobile learning, the author gets to know thereal situation of students carrying out research-based learning with mobile learning.It turns out that mobile learning creates favorable conditions for the research-basedlearning, and arouses students’ interest in carrying out research-based learning,which improves the students practical ability.According to the investigation, the author proposed the following suggestionswith the aim of students making better use of mobile learning to developresearch-based learning.(a)to enhance the students understanding on the use of mobile learning to carryout research-based learning;(b)to improve teachers guidance ability to help students using mobile learningto carry out research-based learning;(c)to calls on all parties to actively promote the use of mobile learning to carryout research-based learning.
