English writing is an important part of English teaching activities. It isnot only an important part of training primary school students to learnEnglish, but also is a difficulty for the primary school students to learnEnglish. English writing not only investigate the use of English knowledgeof the students, train the students in use of thinking in English flexibility,but also the English writing complement each other with the abilities oflistening, speaking and reading. The English writing requirements forhigh-grade primary students in English curriculum standards (trial version)which is promulgated by the Ministry of Education is very clear:1. Imitatethe examples to write sentences;2. Be able to write simple greeting, pictures,objects, etc;3.Upon request to write a brief title or description for picturesor objects;4. Basic capital and lowercase letters and punctuation correctly.Thus, to improve English writing skills of high-grade primary students isvery important.As a primary school English teacher in Datong, I deeply felt the lack ofattention and guidance for English writing of high-grade primary schoolstudents. In order to investigate the English writing status of high-gradeprimary school students, and find out the problems in English writing andexplore the reasons for the formation,and put forward the correspondingstrategies to improve English writing skills and English writing literacy ofhigh-grade primary school students. The author used a questionnaire surveyand job analysis methods, well-designed questionnaire and assignmentquestions,invested North Street Primary School found the problems ofhigh-grade primary school students in English writing are: First, there aremany syntax errors in students’ assignment and lack of vocabulary. Theyare not good at imitating the example to write sentences; Second, there are many errors of the first letter of sensitive and punctuation and content owecontinuity in their writing; Third, the content is very tedious and lack ofliving material when the students are asked to describe according to therequirements; Fourth, the students lack of understanding for English writingpurposes and the purposes are not very clear; Fifth, the students lack ofinterests in English writing with confidence. The main reasons of high-gradeprimary school students in English writing are: the students’ own problems,including individual differences of the students; the basis of chineseknowledge is not solid; Chinese thinking has affected the students’ Englishwriting. There are many drawbacks from primary English teachers andschool education. On the basis of extensive collection of the information,carefully read and analyzed a large number of English writing-relatedliterature, the author combines theory and practice and put forward theguidance strategies: consolidate knowledge about English writing; use theChinese knowledge to improve English writing; interest in learning Englishwriting; multi writing assessment. This thesis is focused psychologicalcharacteristics of high-grade primary school students to put forwardstrategies for English teachers to guide students learning English writing.Paper conducted a survey, analysis with a view to identify problems andfocus on targeted issues in proposing strategies, use the theory as a guide,topractice as a breakthrough, scientifically and systematically and targeted.
