| Research indicates that people’s cognitive level, speed of response, attention to capacity will decline after mental fatigue, but after a short break, the level of mental activity can be improved. It is generally agreed that the right amount of physical exercise can help the recovery of mental fatigue. However, there are no related experiments can explain whether the physical exercise in mental fatigue recovery is better than other methods. Therefore, this study used a VDT mental fatigue model to explore the effects of different restoration methods after fatigue of college students, in order to verify the role of sports activities in the improvement of mental fatigue.According to the particularity of subjects, this study used the indicators which are able to quickly reflect the subjects’brain activity----CFF (critical fusion frequency), RT (reaction time) and MT (movement time), to research the subjects’VDT and recovery of mental fatigue conditions before and after test. The subjects are from Hangzhou Normal University and Zhejiang Financial College students, continuously VDT work for more than1hour. The experiment1is based on analysis of the college students’mental fatigue condition in different groups before and after the VDT operation, discussed the mental fatigue differences between two groups. In experiment2, this study compared the effect of sports activity and static rest on mental fatigue recovery.The study conclusions are as follows:1There are significant differences in RT, MT and CFF between before VDT work and after VDT work in two groups of subjects. The results show that subjects’general condition and mental states are in line with the state after long time continuous work, which indicates that one hour of VDT task induced mental fatigue. Long time continuous work will not only affect the subjects’ cognitive level, but also the physical activity.2After20minutes break, the subjects’RT, MT and CFF have a noticeable improvement. The static rest and sports activities have some effect on mental fatigue mitigation.3Mental activity status in static rest group failed to achieve equal status of before the VDT work, but the sport activities group had basically reached the same level. The same time, the rate of change of RT, MT, CFF in sports activities group was significantly better than the static rest group, and the recovery effect of sports activity on mental fatigue is better than static rest. |
