A Case Work Intervention Study On Preventing The Recurrence Of Elderly Schizophrenics Under The Theory Of Recovery

In recent years,the number of people suffering from mental disorders has continued to rise globally.By the end of 2021,the number of patients with severe mental disorders registered on China alone has reached 6.6 million,and mental illness has become an increasingly serious social problem.With the continuous expansion of the base of mental disorders,the development of mental health in China is facing the problems of insufficient capital investment and shortage of human resources.In order to effectively to alleviate the current predicament,the state began to explore the construction of community rehabilitation services,through the purchase of social work services,make full use of community resources,to assist patients with mental disorders in the community rehabilitation,to protect their rights to health in accordance with the law,promote the integration of the group and society,reduce the occurrence of atrocities,ease social contradictions.The author conducted research and practice in Guangzhou W institution,relying on the mental rehabilitation project,to provide a series of rehabilitation services for the rehabilitation of mental disorders.In this study,through the study of the elderly schizophrenic rehabilitation group in S and F streets of R district,the particularity of their rehabilitation process was analyzed from the physiological,psychological and social levels,and a representative elderly schizophrenic rehabilitation(Mr.Zhang)was selected to carry out social work intervention.According to the investigation and research,Mr.Zhang has a history of disease recurrence in the process of community rehabilitation,and is still in the high-risk stage of disease recurrence.The reasons for Mr.Zhang ’s falling into disease recurrence can also be summarized into three levels : individual,family and society.On the personal level,one is that Mr.Zhang himself does not understand the knowledge of mental illness,cognitive bias leads to wrong rehabilitation behavior,and the second is that Mr.Zhang is currently in the ’disappointment ’ state of old age,and is very pessimistic about life;from the family level,Mr.Zhang has a tense relationship with family members and lacks the care and support of family members;from the social level,Mr.Zhang ’s relationship with community residents is tense,and there are often contradictions and conflicts.Mr.Zhang is being marginalized by the community.In view of the above difficulties faced by Mr.Zhang,this study focuses on correcting Mr.Zhang ’s wrong ideological and behavioral concepts and dealing with diseases with a positive attitude based on the concept of recovery and case work.Improve the relationship between Mr.Zhang and family members,establish a family support network;improve Mr.Zhang ’s interpersonal skills and ease the stereotype of community residents on Mr.Zhang.After the case intervention,Mr.Zhang’s rejuvenation effect was significantly improved,his risk of disease recurrence was reduced,his abilities were improved,and he was able to re-accept himself,affirm his value,and embrace his old age with a positive outlook on life.
