Since the advent of ShuoWenJieZi in the Eastern Han Dynasty, to the early Qing Dynasty, has stretches more than a thousand years. In the long river of philology history in China, it was gradually formed as the center and foundation of the school of academic trends. Evolution to Qian, Jia, Dao period, has finally launched the "ShuoWen study". It was also during this period,"ShuoWen study" development in its vigor to its peak. As one aspect of "ShuoWen study", YiZi study was developed following the comprehensive and in-depth research to ShuoWen and collation science flourish, and had obtained higher achievement. ShuoWenYiZiKao, written by Zhang Mingke, is an important monograph of specialized research on YiZi study, after Shuowenyizi, the first monograph of specialized research on YiZi study written by ZhengZhen, represented certain achievements on YiZi study. However, there is few study on philology theory of Zhang Mingke for a long time, and also a monograph about ShuoWenYiZiKao. The value of this book didn’t fully affirmed. From the following aspects, this thesis tries to make a comprehensive analysis and fair evaluation of ShuoWenYiZiKao.Ⅰ.The introduction involves the relation between ShuoWen YiZi and XinFuZi, the study about ShuoWen by previous scholars, the research about ShuoWenYiZiKao which was written by Zhang Mingke and the practical Significance of the research of the thesis.Ⅱ.The biography of Zhang Mingke and his books. This part presents his life story, academic achievements and some introduction about ShuoWenYiZiKao.Ⅲ. The arrangement and explanation style. This part describes its collection of words, the chapters and the classifications. And give some examples for its interpretation.Ⅳ.The research on ShuoWenYiZiKao. Including the source of YiZi, the method to fragments of Correction, how to classify YiZi, and the study on the Textual Research content of YiZi, which is also the focus of this thesis.Ⅴ.Comparison with other books. Respectively with ShuoWenYiYi written by ZhengZhen and ShuoWenWuYi-ShiYi written by WangXu.VI.The achievements and limitations. The ShuoWenYiZiKao gathered learnde persons theory about YiZi, the order lines’clarity, and the materials in Zhang Mingke’s notes are very useful. But sometimes we found confused with his YiZi classify, and he did little judgments in his book.Ⅶ.Conclusion. Including a comprehensive evaluation of ShuoWenYiZiKao, and a brief conclusion.
