Qian Liqun’s research of Lu Xun was started in1960s.His Lu Xun and MaoZedong showed that he had been highly concerning about the subjective spirit of LuXun. At the late stage of Cultural Revolution, his wordview was assaulted, but whenhe read Marxist-Leninist classics, he found a critique of dialectical philosophy andcritical spirit of Lu Xun interlinked, which prepared for his formation of anindependent concept of Lu Xun. In1976, he wrote an essay named Reading YeCaoZhaohuaxishi Essay which didn’t get rid of the impact of the revolutionary ideology,but has been shown a tendency of re-exploring Lu Xun’s spiritual. He initiated thediscussion of the20th Century Chinese Literature and start Zhou Zuoren research in1980s, which encouraged him to form a new independent view of the world, and theoretical framework of Lu Xuns"historical intermediate".The publication SpiritualExploration marked that he had formed an independent view of Lu Xun and hisself-awareness and the worldview had reached a new stage. The book Encounterwith Lu Xun is a concentrated expression of his research in the1990s to the earlytwentieth century. He stressed that "the feeling of Lu Xun", it brought his uniqueinterpretation of Lu Xun. This book is a continuation of his colloquial features. Thereis a complementary relationship between it and his previous book calledApproaching to Contemporary Lu Xun. It also marked Qian Liqun’s researching on LuXuns works had completed gradually. In addition, it is closely linked to the concept of"true knowledge class" to discuss the controversy of Lu Xun, reflecting Qian Liqunconfusion in the new century and seeking spiritual support from Lu Xun,which is anunique way of processing confusion.
