TCM Constitution Cerebral Palsy

Objectives：To discovery the relevance between TCM constitution types inchildren and the incidence of infantile cerebral palsy,through researching onthe TCM constitution types of the children with cerebral palsy.Methods：Researching on TCM constitution types of the100children, who meetthe diagnostic criterion of cerebral palsy, through applying the cross-sectionalstudy; determined the TCM constitution types of the children with cerebral palsyin the light of the determination scheme of TCM constitution types of the children;used the SPSS17.0statistical software to proceed the statistical analysis anddescription on the survey data.Results：1.Unbalanced constitution type is the main part(82%) of the TCM constitutiontypes of the children with the cerebral palsy, and the balanced constitutiontype is in the majority of the TCM constitution type among the healthy children,there’er marked differences in the composition between the balanced andunbalanced constitution types between the healthy children and children withcerebral palsy.The component ratio of the unbalanced constitution types in thechildren with cerebral palsy is:partial Yin deficiency constitutiontype(45.12%),partial Qi deficiency constitution type(20.73%),partial phlegmdampness constitution type(15.85%),partial Yang deficiency constitutiontype(9.76%),partial Qi&Yin deficiency constitution type(1.22%),othertypes(7.32%).2.Age and Physical typesUnbalanced constitution type get the majority of the different age groupsof the children with cerebral palsy, the main part of the unbalanced constitutiontypes is the partial Yin deficiency constitution type, and the ratio of Yindeficiency constitution type increases as the raising of age. 3.Risk factors and constitution of cerebral palsyResult of the survey indicates：the constitution type of children with historyof neonatal asphyxia is mainly composed by the partial Qi deficiency constitutiontype and partial Yin deficiency constitution type;the constitution type ofchildren with history of intracranial hemorrhage is mostly partial Yindeficiency constitution type;the constitution type of children with history ofhypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy is mainly partial Qi deficiency constitutiontype;the constitution type of children with history of jaundice delayedregression is mostly Yin deficiency constitution type.4.Clinical classification and constitutions(1)TCM syndrome types and constitutionsThe result of the survey indicates that,the unbalanced constitution type isin the majority of different TCM constitution types with cerebral palsy,and it’s mostly composed by Yin deficiency constitution type.The TCM syndrome ismostly composed by syndrome of the stagnation of the liver qi and deficiencyof the spleen(53%).Most of the partial Yin deficiency is the syndrome of thestagnation of the liver qi and deficiency of the spleen(54.05%).(2)Western medicine classifications and constitutionsThe result of survey shows that,most of TCM constitution types with cerebralpalsy is unbalanced constitution type,which is mostly composed by the partialYin deficiency constitution type.The spastic is in majority(60%) of westernclassification.Most type of the partial Yin deficiency constitution typeclassified by western medicine methods is spastic(62.16%).Conclusion1.TCM constitution type of the children with cerebral palsy is mostly composedby unbalanced constitution type,most of TCM constitution type of the healthychildren is balanced constitution type,there are marked differences in the TCMconstitution type between the healthy children and children with cerebral palsy.2.Most of the unbalanced constitution type of the children with cerebral palsy is partial Yin deficiency constitution type,and the TCM syndromes of the childrenwith Yin deficiency are mostly composed by the the syndrome of the stagnationof the liver qi and deficiency of the spleen,indicating that the TCM constitutiontype has an effect on the transformation of the TCM syndromes.3.Unbalanced constitution type of the children with cerebral palsy is composedby the partial Yin deficiency constitution type，and children with partial Yindeficiency gets the majority in the spastic classified by the western methods,andit indicates that there’s internal relationship in the cerebral palsy betweenthe spastic and syndrome of the stagnation of the liver qi and deficiency ofthe spleen.
