Evaluation And Management Of CIE Formosa Ha Tinh Vietnam Sintering Project Risk

With the deepening of economic globalization, the development of large-scale projects are increasingly turning to the EPC model, EPC model project will become the mainstream model of the future of construction projects. Whether the accumulation of theoretical research or practical experience of EPC model, it is undoubtedly of great significance for engineering contractors participating in the international competition. The Chinese government has actively encouraged contractors to get out and given strong support through the government preferential policies. Under the economic globalization, China EPC model has developed rapidly. Many contractors have done the research and explore for design-procurement-construction management model, and participated in many international and domestic EPC projects, they got richly rewarded while inevitable facing of a huge project risk. Therefore, the international project risk management research becomes the focus of attention of the whole society and enterprises.Although CIE has undertaken many international projects during past years, it is relatively lack of ideas and practical experience of risk management. The present research provides guidance on the project risk prevention by studying risk management targeting specific case. Based on the risk and project management theory, the research focused on Formosa Plastics Vietnam’s Ha Tinh sinter project operation in CIE, and carried out a detailed analysis of the foreseeable risk elements. It used the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to quantitate the risk of this project, which provides guideline for the risk prevention. What’s more, it provided a number of constructive measures to reduce risks and losses caused by the implementation of the project. Meanwhile, the research improved the anti-risk ability of operating CIE international projects and the company’s operating efficiency, increased the profitability of the project, and optimized a rational allocation of resources. At the same time, the project risk management experience can be considered as effective accumulation for future participation in the international project risk management, which enhances the ability of CIE international risk resistance and international competition.
