As the blood of a city, underground pipeline is closely related to our life. The traditionalunderground pipeline measures can’t satisfy the complex pipeline management requirements, andthe underground pipeline data quantity is getting larger with the rapid development ofcities,especially spatial analysis. Ordinary two-dimensional pipeline has been using more andmore mature, that lays a good foundation for pipeline in three-dimensional application. But alongwith peoples’3D visualization demand,it’s badly needed to provide visual effect in3Denvironment, so as to improve the business application ability and the management level. Fromthe present2D and3D visualization technology of underground pipeline, this paper puts forwarda method to build the pipeline information system in3D VTK environment and And realizes thepreliminary pipeline3d spatial analysis function.This paper mainly studies the following points:(1) VTK3D visualization technologyFirst,this paper makes a general introduction to the persent2D and3D technology, especiallythe3D visualization technology.Then,we do some research on the VTK line visualizationrendering technology, study the graphic model and visual model mechanism,and explore how tomodeling,rendering and implementing the underground pipeline under VTK.(2)Underground pipeline spatial data modeling and managementAccording to the basic characteristics of underground pipeline data,this paper designs thethree dimensional underground pipeline data structure and models the three dimensionalunderground pipeline data reasonablely. Then this paper puts forward a method for three layersof the pipeline spatial database management organization based on ArcSDE and establishes aspecial urban underground pipeline database.This realizes attribute data and spatial data of thepipeline data integration storage.(3) using VTK rendering3d underground pipelinewe do a general description to the3D spatial data and study the3D model renderingmechanism of the pipeline data in VTK. Then designs the ColladaToVTK algorithm whichmakes the DAE format of Collada file can be directly rendered in the VTK environment. Thispaper also designs the transformation interface (FeatureClassToVTK) between3D pipelinespace data and VTK visualization model,which can realize the3D visualization of feature classin ArcSDE by VTK.(4)3D underground pipeline spatial analysisThis paper researches the basic spatial analysis function realization algorithm of threedimensional underground pipeline,including section analysis, the shortest path analysis, detonation tube analysis, Collision analysis, etc. And do the code design combined with GISspace analysis function and related development interface. This can provide a powerful scientificbasis for decision-making for pipeline relevant departments.In a word, this paper presents a thorough study of3D pipeline data modeling and VTKvisualization rendering realization mechanism, and innovative gives the rendering realizationprocess of three dimensional pipeline data in VTK3D environment.Then realizes a simple3Dpipeline spatial analysis function.This provides a new train of thought and solution for pipelinesystem in3D level.
