A Study On The Interpretation Of The Disyllabic Compound Noun In Modern Chinese Dictionary (6th Edition)

In order to reveal the dictionary definition of the theory and methods, the research onthe dictionary definition in the academic do try to make a different degree，that providingthe guidance on the research of the interpretation of the disyllabic compound noun in myarticle. This thesis selects the disyllabic compound noun and the interpretation of thedisyllabic compound noun in Modern Chinese Dictionary (6th edition) as the researchobject, starting with the prefix meanings relationship with morpheme meanings of thedisyllabic compound noun, and testing the situation of the prefix meanings in ModernChinese Dictionary (6th edition), according to “The Writing Rule of the Modern ChineseDictionary”. From then, according to the definition of motivation of the disyllabiccompound noun in the dictionary, the degree of semantic structure of the dominantdisyllabic compound nouns affects the definition of motivation of the dictionary. Adding themorpheme meanings together is the meaning of words, this type of words formationdirectly illustrates the relationship between one morpheme meaning and the other one in thedefinition of words of the dictionary, which is a clear description of the rationale of thedisyllabic compound nouns, and it do not need the terminology of "so""so called" to hintthe rationale for the disyllabic compound words. Meanwhile, the dictionary will deliberateto interpret the disyllabic compound noun, whose morpheme meanings do not directlyreflect the color meaning, the cultural background, allusions and historical significance.And it will add the language of presentation in some interpretation of the disyllabiccompound noun. Finally, we analyze the differences of the interpretation of the disyllabiccompound nouns categories and the reason of differences between5th edition and6thedition. The thesis is divided into five parts:Introduction explains some of the major research value, current research and thesisideas, the theory which involves in the thesis and the research lexicography and lexicologyfocus and difficulty of this article, then the point of this study.The first chapter, from the inside of the disyllabic compound nouns, analyzing the relationships of the prefix meanings and the morpheme meanings, inspection thecircumstances of the section prefix cover occurring within the a compound wordmorpheme-defined, to display the Modern Chinese Dictionary6thedition for not coveringmorpheme-defined type prefix meanings amendment, noting that represented prefixmorpheme meanings generated from more than just the syntax, morphology can reverse theimpact morpheme generate new meanings. Finally, there are some examples of irrationalprinciple of local interpretation header drifted outside.The second chapter, the research, of the rationale of the disyllabic compound nouns inModern Chinese Dictionary. Firstly show the form of justification of the disyllabiccompound noun interpretation in; then from the dictionary definition of the angle, thedisyllabic compound nouns investigate morphological categories, divided meaningmorpheme is directly compositing meaning of the word, indicates the significance of theword categories: morpheme meaning of indirect composites meaning of the word and thedisyllabic compound nouns overall significance of variation, and explore the disyllabiccompound noun interpretation of morphological categories and rationale the performance ofthe corresponding problem.The third chapter, the description of the interpretation of the disyllabic compoundnouns in Modern Chinese Dictionary5th edition and6th edition, analyzing the entries, andthe addition and changes within the same meanings defined differences between the varioustypes of adjustment. From a macro, focus on the entire disyllabic compound nouns,summarized its division and meanings, meanings, such as the deletion of the revisedinterpretation of the law and the underlying causes, while echoing the principles ofappropriate prefix meanings set.The conclusion summarizes the contents of this thesis, and points out the inadequate ofthis paper, finally indicates the development direction of related researches in the future.
