The Research Of Xie Zhaozhe’s Xiao Cao Zhai Ji And Xiao Cao Zhai Xu Ji

Xie Zhaozhe was a famous writer in the late Ming in Fujian. As a prolific writer, he got great achievements in poem, essay, theory and literary sketches, and his works were highly appreciated by ancient scholars. He led a wandering life, and experienced Long Qing, Wan Li, Tai Chang and Tian Qi four periods. His official career last more than thirty years, and he travelled throughout the north and south. At first he was a minor official, and then became a minister of rivers, and in his old age, he was appointed frontier high-ranking officials. Xie Zhaozhe was entirely worn out in performing his duties no matter in what position. His voluminous writings involved in many fields have now become important research materials. Xie Zhaozhe was deeply affected by his senior Gao Bing in aspect of poetry creation, and he had faith in Min School. He wrote poems with Min School’s literary ideas; in the mean time he had intimate relationships with many other poets from different Schools with a very tolerant attitude. Xie Zhaozhe played a very important role in the late Ming which is a very special period with ideological emancipation and diverse schools.Xie Zhaozhe’s more than three thousand poems with different styles were recorded in Xiao Cao Zhai Ji and Xiao Cao Zhai Xu Ji. These two books were his great achievements which have abundant contents and high research value. On the basis of previous studies, the article is intended to research in the interaction between Xie Zhaozhe’s poems and his literary ideas. Besides the introduction, man body is divided in four parts to do in-depth research to show the achievements and connotations of Xie Zhaozhe’s poems.Chapter one is Genre Forms Research. In this part, genre forms of the two books are the entry points. First, I do quantitative statistics on the poems for reliable date, and build a clear and accurate table to display the date. Then, I analysis every genre form of pre-Tang poetry an modern style poetry, through the results, I try to figure out the definitions of these forms in Xie Zhaozhe’s literary idea, the preference in his poetry creation of these forms and characteristics in which reflect through his poems. At last, combined with ideological background of the late Ming period I can get the style-discriminating theory of Xie Zhaozhe.Chapter two is Artistic features Research. In this part, ideological characteristics of Min School were regarded as the ideological background, I do research through the poetry test that recorded in Xiao Cao Zhai Ji and Xiao Cao Zhai Xu Ji to get the aesthetic tendency and language features of his works. Then, I generalize his commonly used image and classic scene. Xie Zhaozhe use his poetry to picture his world of the Literati Spirit, because of that, we can find his poetry art’s unique aesthetic value.Chapter three is Xiao Cao Zhai Ji and Xiao Cao Zhai Xu Ji’s Value Research. I divide this chapter in three parts. In the first place, I sort out the clues of his wandering life and his poetry development vein in each corresponding period, and through his poetry, I can find out the progress of his spiritual path. In part two, I place emphasis on Xiao Cao Zhai Xu Ji which is little noticed by scholars, especially the poems about landscape style and ethnic customs of minority areas to summarize their historical and cultural value, this work can be important supplement to previous research. In part three, I study the poems which contain the writer’s ideas, to prove the ideological value of Xiao Cao Zhai Ji and Xiao Cao Zhai Xu Ji.Chapter four is Research on The Relationship between Poetry and Theory. In this part, after combining Xie Zhaozhe’s poetry and his poetry theories which are written in Xiao Cao Zhai Shi Hua, I do my research from two aspects, one is the theoretical impact on poetry, the other one is the acceleration of poetry creation in the development of his poetry theories. Thus I can make a dialectical understanding of the relationship between his poetry and theories. The purpose of this chapter is to restore a vivid image of Xie Zhaozhe.Xiao Cao Zhai Ji and Xiao Cao Zhai Xu Ji are important research materials that Xie Zhaozhe left to us. We can learn many things about the poet, the poet groups in his age and the poetry in the late Ming through them. The significance of these two books can not be ignored.
