Discuss On The Features Of The Female Family Of Zhai Yongming's Poetry

It is "the conception of family" that plays a much larger part in the Chinese traditional culture. As a result, this kind of family conception often finds expression in a great number of Chinese literary works over years. Zhai Yongming, as the leading female poet in the mid 1980s, was no exception. Zhai'puts "the image of the female family members" in to her poems. Such writing characteristics has provided the researchers with a new angle of view and a breakthrough point in studying feminist poems including Zhai Yongming's. Based on Zhai Yongming's themes and ideas, this paper does research into the images of the female family in her poems. This dissertation is therefore divided into two chapters in terms of the specific historical context.The first chapter is mainly concerned with Zhai Yongming's favored theme:fate, mind experience and death. It is found that the same theme of the "destiny tragedy" of these female family members runs through all Zhai Yongming's poems. Such theme may be portrayed by two aspects, "the inheritance of love and marriage tragedy", and "the circle of mother and daughter's tragedy destiny". Not only does.this show that the poet's attention ranges from the destiny of an individual to the humanity; but also shows her creative capability by describing the humanity's destiny and outlook. According to this research, it is fairly clear that the poet has a better understanding of the female subject when putting "a female individual life experience and her psychological mind experience" into works. Moreover, since the theme of death also goes through Zhai's poems, this paper tries to discuss her poems in terms of the concept of death and the psychological effect of death upon the poet herself. The second chapter is mainly involved in the narration strategy of the image of the female family in Zhai Yongming's poems. The author does the study of her poems in terms of these aspects such as the point of view, linguistic style, image characteristic and sentimental keynote. It is by the way of the angle of view and linguistic style that her poems are featured by the "multiple narration", "alone lean type" and "exchange various body". Furthermore, the findings tell that the poet conveys the dismal life of family women by cold tonal language, the cold tone, negative imagery elements of feelings of cold tone. These characteristics are reflected by way of the structure and way of narrating modes of drama and fiction and the spatial concept of construction field.In a word, Zhai Yongming is one of the pioneers who have contributed a lot to the contemporary Chinese female poetry. And this paper analyzes her family female members from the viewpoint of a particular'literary standard'and'sex standard'of poetry criticism.
