When studying a foreign language, Koreans have difficulty in proper usage of near-Synonyms. And they have this problem of course when they study Chinese. Choosing a proper word out of words that have almost the same meaning is definitely difficulty for them.Looking into how they study, we notice that they simply memorize the vocabulary not knowing how to apply it to daily life. What they do is not a good way of studying because usage, feeling and cultural backgrounds actually make slight differences among a group of near-Synonyms.near-Synonyms are actively studied but none of the studies have focused on how to learn proper usage of them. I would like to help these Koreans with studying near-Synonyms, based on the solutions I will come up with in addition to the causes and phenomena discovered under many studies so far. To come up with solutions, I will use these four methods as I do my research.First, I will introduce this standard of judgment to measure a near-Synonyms analysis, based on theories in second language.Secondly, I will compare near-Synonyms in Korean with those in Chinese. The Korean near-Synonyms are from this survey on the most-misused65pairs of Korean near-Synonyms. And they have also been categorized into three types on the basis of semantic and grammatical standards.Thirdly, I will come up with the ways to analyze near-Synonyms errors. Also, I will analyze errors using the conclusion that came from various surveys. The survey’s margin of error was listed based on the learning period. Lastly, I will talk about what is wrong with the ways of learning a foreign language for Koreans and give some words of guidance on it.
