The Experience Of Epulis Surgery Treatment And Reparation Exploration:16Case Reports

Objective:Explore pathological types of epulis and clinic features. Study surgery treatment to gain well gingival reparation.Methods:A total of16cases patients are diagnosed as epulis and need to receive surgery treatment through the biopsy. The number of15cases are initial diagnosis, other is first relapse. After teeth gain scaling and root planing, patients receive surgery treatment with local anesthesia. Surgery divides into the way of tumor excision and the way of excision carried out by connective tissue flap to reparation wound. The connective tissue flap includes unilateral or bilateral slide half thickness flap repair apically replaced flap、free gingival flap. All of the cases are identified three pathological types under the biopsy. Evaluate gingival reparation、complication and periodontal tissue, Finally, we observe if the epulis exist relapse.Results:There are three pathological classification:fibrous epulis9cases (56.2%)、vascular epulis6cases (37.5%) and granular cell epulis1case (6.25%). No epulis recurrence was found during follow-up periods in all the16cases. None was found with periodontal or gingival tissue atrophy. Gingival tissue appearance recovers healthy. There is no phenomenon of scar and pain.Conclusions:Epulis has three pathological types. Every pathological type has different histology characters. Treatment requires adequate excision and irritation remove. Surgery deals with wound carried out connective tissue flap and gains excellent healing. Hence, the surgery treatment is one of reasonable therapeutic methods.
