Periodontal disease is a chronic infectious disease. It is one of the two most common dental conditions. Periodontal diseases include gingival diseases and periodontitis. Main signs and symptoms of periodontal diseases are gingival inflammation, periodontal pocket formation, bone resorption, tooth mobility even tooth loss.Chronicgingivitis, epulis, chronic periodontitisand combined periodontal-endodontic lesions are the common diseases in clinic. Periodontal treatments include non-surgical and surgical treatment. Assessment of the patientsat 6-8 weeks post-nonsurgical treatment to evaluate whether surgery or not. Further restorative therapies start at 2-3 months post-operatively. Periodontal maintenance(supportive periodontal therapy) is the key for maintaining long-term clinical effect and it should be valued during treatment.Objective: To investigate the common periodontal diseases to observe the clinical result by periodontal specialized examination,initial therapy,in periodontal based uplink surgical treatment, aiming.Methods: We collected 14 clinical cases, include chronic gingivitis, epulis, chronic periodontitis, combined periodontal-endodontic lesions, periodontal abscesses and vertical root fracture.1. Radiogic analysis, photo information collection.2. Initial therapy: detailed oral hygiene instruction, supragingival scaling, SRP, periodontal bag flush and local irrigation.3. Operation indication: periodontal pockets>5mm and bleeding on probing post-initial therapy, bad gingiva and bone morphology, placing restorative margins within biological width.Results:Using gingiva inflammation, gingival bleeding, pocket depth and radiologic examination to analysis the treatment effect. In the collection of 14 cases, patients are satisfied with the effect. Patients with early periodontal diseases or good compliance get better effect.Conclusions:Based on 14 patients with non-surgical and surgical treatment, the results show that patients could obtain satisfactory effect. Especially those with early periodontal diseases or good compliance get better effect.
