Objective:To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of acute retinal necrosis Syndrome(ARNS).To explore the early diagnosis and appropriate of ARNS, so as to improve its’prognosis.Method:We studied the cases of ARNS in the inpatient of Shanxi Province Eye Hospitalfrom2013, and we analysed these cases’diagnosis, duration and treatment.Results:In2013there were8cases of ARNS (8eyes) in Shanxi Province Eye Hospital,5were male and3were female. The age range was30to58years(mean48土11.6years).The visual acutity prior to treatment of two cases was hand move, threecases were0.01to0.08, two eyes were0.1to0.25, three eyes were0.3to0.6.Everycase accepted antiviral therapy.3eyes developed retinal detachment after21to133days(mean59.7土51.9days),which accepted vitrecomy, silicone filling andcombined with laser photocoagulation. After treatment, one case was finger-count/30cm, one case was0.01to0.08, two eyes were0.1to0.25,six eyes were0.3to0.8. Seven cases were well controlled the progress of ARNS, and was increased moreor less. Only one case, the visual acutity without changing, but with well controllingof the progress of ARNS.6cases (6eyes)were misdiagnosed as conjunctivitis, uveitis, vitreous opacities andglaucomatocyclitic crisis. Conclusion:ARNS is a rare desease which can potentially lead to poor visual results. It has ahigh rate of misdiagnosis. Without carefully fundus examination, ARNS cases can bemisdiagnosed as uveitis and glaucomatocyclitic crisis. Terminal can have retinaldetachment. Antiviral therapy and vitrectomy, silicone oil filling and combined withlaser photocoagulation were effective in ARNS and retinal reattachment. What’s morethe postoperative visual acuity can be improved to some extent.
