Acute retinal necrosis syndrome(ARNS)is a potential blinding eye disease,mainly caused by varicella zoster,herpes simplex virus,less caused by cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus.Early diagnosis and early treatment is the key to the treatment of acute retinal necrosis syndrome.At present,the common diagnostic methods are ocular examination and polymerase chain reaction(PCR)test.Antiviral therapy is the basic treatment method to ARNS,other include systemic steroids,anticoagulant therapy,laser coagulation,preventive vitrectomy and so on.At present,with the improvement of medical level and the development of ophthalmic research,but the prognosis of ARNS remain poorly although there are tremendous progress in the surgery,antiviral therapy and other aspects.
