Acute retinal necrosis syndrome is a serious eye disease, which caused by Herpes virus mostly, with unknown pathogenesis and high blindness rate. The clinical features of this sight-threatening disease are typically diffuse whitish necrotic lesions, the vasculitis of retinal and choroid,and the Vitreous inflammation. About three-quarters of the patients with ARN lost their central vision due to the retinal detachment during the late stages of disease. In this paper,we Comprehensively analyzed the etiology, clinical manifestation, clinical stage, diagnostic criteria and the treatment of ARN.Current treatment strategies are the combination of the drug therapy and the operative treatment. Drugs commonly used are antiviral drugs, glucocorticoids, and antiplatelet drugs, and the operative treatment includes laser photocoagulation and vitrectomy. |
