Objectives:This study was to investigate on current status and analysis the influencingfactors of intervention ability to postpartum depression of the obstetric nurses inChangchun, then it put forward the training strategy of intervention ability topostpartum depression of the obstetric nurses.Method:A cross-sectional study was undertaken from October2013to March2014,andthe self-designed questionnaire was applied on227obstetric nurses selected from sixIII-A-grade hospitals and one III-A-grade obstetrics and gynecology hospital inChangchun.The questionnaire includes two sections:(1)socio-demographicalcharacteristics of participants;(2)current status of intervention ability to postpartumdepression of the obstetric nurses. A database was establised by epidata3.0softwareand analyze the data by SPSS17.0statistical software used the descriptive analysis,ttest, analysis of variance,et al.Results:1. The score of the respondents’ intervention ability is (146.78±14.32), Healtheducation dimension’s score is(42.29±5.94),therapeutic schedule dimension’s scoreis (35.22±4.58),incentive and manifestation dimensions are (30.24±4.20),essenceand characteristic dimensions are (19.84±3.04).2. Among the227obstetric nurses,113nurses(49.8%) learnt psychologicalknowledge,35nurses(15.4%) have the experience of providing mental nursing forthe puerpera,22nurses(9.7%) pay attention to puerpera’s emotional change,59nurses(26.0%) knew the disease of postpartum depression. 3. Among the departments of227obstetric nurses,77departments(34.0%) wenton follow-up visits and recording for postpartum depression,34departments(15.0%)set up screening and detecting points for postpartum depression,55departments(24.2%) kept registration data,46departments(20.3%) organized medicalstaff to attend the lecture and study.4. Among the influencing factors,there was a statistical significance (P<0.05) inthe differences of the scores affected by professional titles,final degree,years ofworking,the history of delivery, whether the department went on follow-up visits andrecording for postpartum depression or not, whether the obstetric nurses have theexperience of providing mental nursing for the puerpera or not, pay attention topuerpera’s emotional change or not, learnt psychological knowledge or not,et al.5. Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the main factors areprofessional titles,final degree,whether the department went on follow-up visits andrecording for postpartum depression or not, whether the obstetric nurses have theexperience of providing mental nursing for the puerperal or not.Conclusion:1. The scores of intervention ability to postpartum depression of the obstetricnurses are in the better than average level.2. The current status of intervention ability to postpartum depression of theobstetric nurses has some problems, mainly manifested as follows:obstetric nurseslack systematic psychological knowledge, pay less attention to puerpera’s emotionalchange,provide less effective mental nursing for the puerpera;small numbers ofdepartments set up screening and detecting points for postpartum depression,keptregistration data and recording,less involed in organizing medical staff to attend thelecture and study.3. The influencing factors are:professional titles,final degree,years ofworking,the history of delivery,whether the department went on follow-up visits andrecording for postpartum depression or not, whether the obstetric nurses have theexperience of providing mental nursing for the puerpera or not, pay attention to puerpera’s emotional change or not,learnt psychological knowledge or not.And thekey factors are: professional titles,final degree,whether the department went onfollow-up visits and recording for postpartum depression or not,whether the obstetricnurses have the experience of providing mental nursing for the puerperal or not.4. In order to strengthen the intervention knowledge and ability to postpartumdepression,we should explore feasible countermeasures and develop standardizedtraining programs.
