Objective: Multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (multiple organ dysfunctionsyndrome, MODS) is both an important issue related to the health of hospitalizedpatients, is also an important indicator of the health-related quality. Now in order tocontrol the hospitalized patients with multiple organ dysfunction occurred, itsoccurrence and related factors were retrospectively investigated.Methods: Analyze retrospectively on the132patients that First Hospital of JilinUniversity ICU (Neurological intensive care unit, NICU) has received and cured fromMarch in2012to December in2013who were treated with MODS, and surveyretrospectively of clinical data related thereto including age, gender, time of onset todiagnosis, previous history of chronic disease, first organ dysfunction and multiplenames, the number of organ dysfunction, clinical vital signs, NICU residence time,duration of mechanical ventilation, ventilator-associated parameters (blood gasanalysis relevant laboratory parameters, and biochemical indicators of blood clottingtime, etc.), complications, prevention and etc.SPSS17.0statistical software was applied to this study for data analysis, countdata using chi-square test (X2test), measurement data using t test and rank sum test.Results:1. The neurological intensive care unit, the prevalence of male MODSprevalence higher than women, older appear higher prevalence of MODS.2In the neurological intensive care unit, patients with a previous history of avariety of chronic diseases, a higher incidence of MODS, in which chronichypertension, diabetes, stroke, coronary heart disease history of more common.3In the neurological intensive care unit, respiratory dysfunction is the mostcommon system, and also the first organ dysfunction.4MODS in patients with neurological intensive care wards with the increase inthe number of organ dysfunction, mortality increased gradually.
