Clinical Study On The Effect Of Modified Danggui Shaoyao Powder For Phlegm And Blood Stasis Type Of Age-Related Macular Degeneration

Objective:To observe the clinical effectiveness of modified Danggui Shaoyao Powder for phlegm and blood stasis type of age-related macular degeneration.Methods:All the50cases(78eyes)of phlegm and blood stasis type of age-related macular degeneration were randomly divided into two groups,a control group of25cases(37eyes)and a treatment group of25cases(41eyes).In the treating process,the control group was treated with capsules of Vitamin E,Vitamin C pills and the Stulln Ocular Humor to make eyedrop application,while on the basis of the treatment of the control group,the treatment group was treated with modified Danggui Shaoyao Powder.Every patient was observed and recorded the vision,ocular fundus and the TCM syndrome separately before treatment and after4,8weeks’treatment, additionally,visual field and fundus fluorescence angiography were required to be observed and recorded before treatment and after8weeks’treatment. Compare the data with statistical analysis and evaluation.Results:1.In comparison of the efficacy of specialist,after4,8weeks’ treatment,the total effective rates of the treatment group were68.29%and88%respectively,while those of the control group were45.95%and36%respectively,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The visions of the both groups were improved after4,8weeks’treatment,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.01);After treatment,the comparing difference of the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The areas of retinal hemorrhage,exudates and drusen of the both groups were reduced after4,8weeks’treatment,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05);After treatment,the comparing difference of the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.05).4.The fluorescence leakage and sheltered areas of the both groups were reduced after8weeks’treatment,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05);After treatment,the comparing difference of the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.05).5.The mean defect of visual field of the both groups were improved after8weeks’treatment,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.01);After treatment,the comparing difference of the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.01).6.For the treatment group,the integrals of TCM syndrome were improved after4,8weeks’ treatment,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05),while for the control group,the integrals of TCM syndrome weren’t improved obviously except the improvement of blurred and distorted vision,there was no statistical significance(P>0.05);After treatment,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).7.In comparison of the General integral of TCM syndrome,after4,8weeks’treatment,the total effective rates of the treatment group were72%and88%respectively,while those of the control group were32%and36%respectively,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.01).ConcIusion:Modified Danggui Shaoyao Powder has a good effect on phlegm and blood stasis type of AMD,and the effectiveness in treatment for phlegm and blood stasis type of AMD with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine is better than the group treated by western medicine alone.
